It's hard not to acknowledge the events of yesterday. It happened, but I don't really want to talk about it. It didn't happen in Iraq, or on a battlefield, or anywhere near a war zone. The dead aren't soldiers or terrorists or combatants of any kind. They are just students. And I'm sitting in a library right now, on a college campus. All I hear at this moment is the buzzing of a florescent light.

But what if I heard gunshots?
