You know the types of assignments. Pick something, an object, a concept, a word, anything at all, and tell how you think it symbolizes America. This one is for my ethnology class. I have a really hard time coming up with ideas to write about, and a really easy time writing them once something comes to my mind. It seriously is hard to take this sort of assignment seriously when you know that everything that comes after the title is going to be a load of crap just so you can grab the grade.

Well, I wrote a real humdinger. Actually, it was just complete crap. So bad, my friends, that I'm embarassed. I didn't really follow the assignment, I didn't write anything worth committing to paper, and I turned it in an hour ago. It shames me very much, but tonight, as a lesson in humility, I will be posting this very paper. At first I vowed it would see no eyes other than the teacher, but I figured it would be best to show the world just how bad I can do.
